JJFP has announced the dates and venue. Event registration, detailed eligibility criteria, deadlines, and other instructions are subject to further official announcements. Follow JJFP's official announcements ↗
Use this checklist to organize your preparations. The final requirements for citizenship documentation, event entry, and national-team selection must always be confirmed with the relevant official authorities.
BORN OUTSIDE THE PHILIPPINES: If you acquired Philippine citizenship through a Filipino parent, first register your birth with the Philippine embassy or consulate responsible for your birthplace. The approved Report of Birth is needed before your first Philippine passport application. BORN IN THE PHILIPPINES: No consular Report of Birth is needed; obtain your PSA-issued Philippine birth certificate. Other citizenship circumstances may require additional steps.
Official Report of Birth guidance ↗A valid Philippine passport is required to represent the Philippines internationally. If born abroad, complete the Report of Birth first. An approved Report of Birth issued within 12 months may be used for a passport application at the same issuing consulate; otherwise a PSA-issued copy is generally required. Philippine-born applicants use their PSA birth certificate. Check the consulate's current application and identity requirements.
Official passport requirements for minors ↗Follow the federation's official instructions for athlete membership, Smoothcomp profiles, event registration, and required supporting records. Do not assume that creating a Smoothcomp account alone completes JJFP membership or trial registration.
Smoothcomp ↗JJFP has announced separate youth and national trials on February 6 and 7, 2027. Review the age group, discipline, weight category, registration deadlines, and event-specific requirements once the federation publishes them.
Official JJFP updates ↗The JJFP and relevant governing bodies establish eligibility, selection procedures, and national-team decisions. Attending or placing at a trial does not automatically guarantee selection, international entry, or travel support.
Follow federation announcements ↗A Philippine citizen born abroad through a Filipino parent needs their foreign birth registered with the Philippine government through the consulate responsible for the birthplace. If born in the Philippines, a consular Report of Birth is not required; obtain the PSA-issued Philippine birth certificate instead. Official government guidance ↗
The Report of Birth must first be approved. The Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC permits an approved Report of Birth issued within the last 12 months for a passport application at the same issuing post. Otherwise a PSA-issued record is generally required. Passport requirements ↗
What matters is the athlete's legally recognized Philippine citizenship and the documentation required by the relevant federation and event. Some children of Philippine citizens may already be citizens by birth, while others may need a different process. The core citizenship documentation requirements apply worldwide, although application procedures and supporting evidence may vary by consulate. Confirm your individual circumstances with the appropriate Philippine authority.
Yes. A valid Philippine passport is required for international competition representing the Philippines. The official announcement shown here does not yet specify the exact passport and documentation deadlines for entry into the February 2027 trials. Confirm those details with JJFP before travel.
No PH Global membership requires an athlete to leave their home academy. Our community supports athletes while respecting their existing coaches, clubs, and training relationships. Separate JJFP registration rules should be confirmed directly with the federation.
No. The official federation and governing bodies determine selection, eligibility, and any additional requirements. Trial participation or performance does not itself guarantee selection.
No. PH Global is an independent community initiative. We can share general information and direct families to official sources, but only authorized Philippine agencies can determine citizenship or issue passports, and only the relevant sporting authorities can select national-team athletes.
